Sidewalk repair may take cooperation


The North River flows through Jacksonville. The town is looking for ways to capture state grant money to rebuild sidewalks in the village.

WHITINGHAM- The town may need to seek a deal with the Village of Jacksonville Electric Company to improve sidewalks in the village.  
At their regular meeting on Tuesday, April 24, board members met with Whitingham Economic Development Group Chair Gretchen Havreluk regarding state grants for sidewalks.  Havreluk, a Jacksonville resident, has experience with Agency of Transportation sidewalk grants as Wilmington’s economic development consultant.
Havreluk noted that sidewalks in Jacksonville are owned by the Village of Jacksonville Electric Company.
