Sen. Dick Sears dies unexpectedly, served more than three decades

BENNINGTON-  Sen. Richard “Dick” Sears died unexpectedly Saturday night at Albany Medical Center in New York.  He was 81 years old and was one of the longest serving members of the Vermont Senate.  His district includes the Bennington County towns of Stamford, Searsburg, and Readsboro, and Wilmington in Windham County.
