Scott stresses affordability in budget address


Gov. Phil Scott gave his annual budget address in the Legislature on Tuesday.

MONTPELIER- Gov. Phil Scott delivered his annual budget address in the General Assembly Tuesday, emphasizing familiar themes of affordability and sustainability. 
Gov. Scott’s budget proposes $8.6 billion in spending for fiscal year 2025, including $2.4 billion for education, $2.3 billion for the state’s general fund, and $353 million for transportation.  He said his proposed budget would not impose any new taxes or fees, or increase existing taxes and fees.
