School district trying to get a handle on budgets


Twin Valley financial consultant Michael Nadeau explains excess spending penalty and homestead tax calculations

WHITINGHAM- Members of Twin Valley’s financial sustainability committee met with financial consultant Michael Nadeau Tuesday evening.  
The financial sustainability committee was created following a board retreat in mid-October with a goal of identifying and analyzing “options for getting out of the (Act 68 penalty box) and work on a time frame for taking action.”  The board planned to begin their task with an overview of the current (fiscal year 2021) budget, “and achieving an understanding of the current fund balance.”
