River Valleys board talks spending, tax rates

DOVER - At the Monday, December 17, meeting of the River Valleys Unified Union School District Board, chair Rich Werner gave a presentation about the projected fiscal year 2020 tax rates for the newly-formed district comprising Wardsboro and Dover. Per the presentation, which included budgetary information provided by WCSU business manager Laurie Garland, despite budget increases, if the board uses capital reserve funds to buy down the tax rate, tax rates may remain relatively level for both towns.
