Rescue founders saw community need
WILMINGTON - Deerfield Valley Rescue is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The organization, which many locals simply refer to as “Rescue” was founded in 1974.
The nonprofit organization provides “prehospital emergency medical care” to residents in the towns of Wilmington, Dover, Searsburg, Somerset, Whitingham, Halifax, and parts of Marlboro and Stratton. It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
