DEERFIELD VALLEY- Republicans celebrated sweeping victories nationwide as well as here in Vermont, where Republican gains in the House and Senate erased Democrats’ veto-proof “supermajority,” and Republican candidate for lieutenant governor John Rodgers narrowly defeated three-term incumbent Progressive/Democrat David Zuckerman. Republican Gov. Phil Scott sailed to victory with 71.5% of the statewide vote, and a victory in every single Vermont town.
