Providers, parents, economy face child care challenges

DEERFIELD VALLEY- After shuttering child care facilities and schools statewide in March due to COVID-19, Gov. Scott said child care could reopen on June 1 with strict safety protocols in place. Some local child care providers have since reopened, but not all. 
For those who are, providing child care during a pandemic has come with challenges that at least one local provider says may not be achievable long-term. Meanwhile, child care has a deep impact on the long-term economic health of the region, according to regional economic development experts.
