Police chief to retire, board approves bid for trail work

DOVER- Board members approved a bid for trail construction, discussed a recent contract, and received a retirement announcement from a longtime town employee at their regular meeting Tuesday evening.
Selectboard chair Vicki Capitani read aloud a letter from Dover Police Chief Randy Johnson, announcing his retirement, effective December 31, 2023 - almost a year’s notice.  
In his letter, Johnson thanked the current and past selectboards, Dover residents, town employees, and police officers and staff that he has worked with over the past 40 years.
