New flood bylaws being considered

WILMINGTON—Planning commission chair Cheryl LaFlamme and zoning administrator Craig Ohlson came to Tuesday’s selectboard meeting to  discuss results from the River Corridor and Floodplain Protection Program report. Flooding is Vermont’s most common disaster and it is crucial to regulate flood hazards to the minimum standards of the National Flood Insurance Program so that residents can get flood insurance and be eligible for federal hazard mitigation grant funding to be prepared against the next flood.
