Monday’s eclipse brings scores of sky watchers

DEERFIELD VALLEY-  In southern Vermont, the partial solar eclipse began at 2:14 pm on Monday, April 8. At 3:26 pm, a total eclipse darkened Vermont’s sky, lasting for about three minutes. Dover, Marlboro, and Wilmington held numerous events to celebrate the eclipse.

The Dover Free Library hosted an eclipse picnic on Monday, April 8. Celebrations began at 2 pm. Patrons enjoyed lawn games, a video about eclipses in Vermont, and crafted pinhole viewers and eclipse glasses safety shields. Eclipse glasses were available for all attendees.
