Lift back in service after successful evacuation

A skier was lowered from the Challenger chair lift at Mount Snow during a lift evacuation Saturday.

DOVER- Rescuers evacuated about 190 skiers from a chair lift at Mount Snow last Saturday after it stopped operating.
Mount Snow’s Challenger, a triple lift located on the mountain’s North Face, stopped operating at about 11:30 am with 190 people on board. According to a press  release from Mount Snow, ski patrol personnel evacuated the passengers stranded on the lift, a process that includes lowering each passenger from the lift by rope and harness.  The operation took about two hours, ending at 1:40 pm.  No injuries were reported in the incident.
