Landslide cut off portion of The Primitive Trail, caused reroute

WILMINGTON- Landslides in Vermont don’t happen with much regularity, which is why members of the Wilmington Trails Committee were surprised when they discovered a slide had cut off a portion of the Lake Raponda Primitive Trail.
“I’ve never seen anything like that happen before,” said trails committee chair Spencer Crispe. “The whole embankment slid toward the Beaver Brook.”
The slide took place in a section not too far from the western end of the trail, near White’s Road. It was first reported by a hiker who came across it.
