High bid proposal throws wrench into town’s sewer plans

WHITINGHAM - The Whitingham Selectboard held a flurry of special meetings throughout January related to their ongoing sewer project. The meetings were sparked by a rebid proposal the board believed was unaffordable for users.
At an emergency meeting Monday, January 3, at 6:30 pm, the board met with representatives of the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources Water Investment Division. According to the meeting minutes, the board received a proposal of $41,516 dollars from Weston & Sampson Engineers for the new bid specifications, more than double what had been expected.
