Governor, officials show how virus spread from rink across the region

MONTPELIER- Gov. Scott’s Friday, November 6, briefing focused on a recent COVID-19 outbreak associated with a central Vermont hockey rink, which Gov. Scott said “shows how one event can turn one case into many.”
Commissioner of Financial Regulation Michael S. Pieciak gave an overview of the outbreak.  The first cases had been 23 days before, on Wednesday, October 7, associated with sports leagues at the Central Vermont Memorial Sports Center. Within a few days there were 13 cases, and the health department contact tracing teams began contacting the players.
