Governor, legislators tout housing bill, Act 250 reforms

Among other things, H.719 seeks to incentivize the rehabilitation of distressed buildings in downtowns and villages to create additional housing units.

MONTPELIER- Administration officials and the lead sponsors of a tripartisan housing reform bill touted the legislation at Gov. Phil Scott’s weekly press conference last week.  
House bill H.719, intended to streamline the rehabilitation of distressed housing as well as the construction of new housing in downtowns, villages, and other growth centers that meet certain criteria, was introduced in the Legislature the same afternoon.
