Gov. Scott turns the spigot on masks


Vermont Agency of Human Service Secretary Mike Smith announced changes to Vermont's emergency housing program, expanded during the pandemic.


MONTPELIER- Gov. Phil Scott announced changes to the state’s mask mandate and said Step 2 of his Vermont Forward plan would go into effect on May 1, as planned.  
Based on new guidance from CDC officials, Gov. Scott amended the state’s emergency health order effective Saturday, May 1, lifting the mask requirement outdoors when people are physically distant.  Also effective Saturday, under the Vermont Forward plan, indoor and outdoor gathering capacity increased.
