Gov. Scott takes aim at proposed House committee budget, decries increases and lost opportunities

MONTPELIER- Gov. Phil Scott assailed the $8 billion budget proposal recently released by Vermont’s House Appropriations Committee in his weekly address Wednesday.  
This week the House Appropriations Committee released H.494, also known as “The Big Bill,” detailing their proposed fiscal year 2024 budget. In his address, Gov. Scott said the 258-page bill cut or eliminated a slew of proposals included in his administration’s proposed budget released in January.
