Fidelity seeks judgment on Barnes

HARTFORD, CT- The title insurance company that backed the Hermitage in its Berkshire Bank mortgage is seeking a judgment against Hermitage founder James Barnes in Hartford Superior Court. Fidelity National Title Insurance Company filed their initial complaint and summons in October 2019.
According to court records, Barnes never responded to the complaint, or filed any appearance in the case. In December 2019, the court granted Fidelity’s motion for default based on Barnes’ failure to appear in the case.
