Ed. tax rates see little change, tax bills to rise

MONTPELIER- Vermont Tax Commissioner Kaj Samsom recently released education tax rates and yield figures for fiscal year 2020, and called for communities to keep budget increases under 1.7%.
Statewide education tax rates will remain the same for the 2020 tax year as they are in the current year (fiscal 2019), at the statutory base homestead rate of $1 and $1.58 for nonresidential property.  The homestead yield, however, is forecast to rise from the current $10,220 to $10,666 in fiscal year 2020.
