Court to hear motion in ed. funding lawsuit

WHITINGHAM- Next week, Windham Superior Court Judge Robert P. Gerety will hear arguments on the state’s motion for judgment in Whitingham’s education funding lawsuit.
The motion, filed by the state in April, seeks a declaratory judgment in their favor based on the information already presented in the case.  
Attorneys for the town of Whitingham filed the lawsuit in October 2017, seeking a declaration that Vermont’s education property tax and funding system is unconstitutional, as well as an injunction against its enforcement.
