WILMINGTON - Five telecommunications associations are suing the state of Vermont over legislation that seeks to mitigate the effects of the Federal Communications Commission’s 2018 repeal of Obama-era net neutrality regulations. In the complaint, which was filed in the US District Court on October 18, the plaintiffs allege that an executive order signed by Gov. Phil Scott in February and a subsequent bill, S.289, passed by the Legislature in May are preempted by federal law and are unconstitutional.
