Committee feels the weight of time
The Senate Finance Committee last week discussed student weighting issues with UVM Prof. Tammy Kolbe, author of the 2019 Pupil Weighting Study.
MONTPELIER- The Senate Finance Committee may be poised to move forward with changes to student weighting as recommended in the UVM/Rutgers Pupil Weighting Factors report released in 2019.
This fall, a legislative task force on the implementation of the pupil weighting report recommended two options. One option would implement most of the weighting recommendations in the 2019 UVM/Rutgers report authored by UVM professor Tammy Kolbe.
Rather than a weight for English language learners, however, the task force recommended a categorical grant.
