WILMINGTON - On Wednesday morning, days after the biggest snowstorm to hit the valley this season, police chief Matt Murano is weighing options.
“We started to look at opening a warming shelter yesterday,” he says. Heavy snow, relentless enough that it’s still weighing down trees days later, caused widespread power outages in the area. As of Wednesday morning, 1,000 customers are still without power. “It will be the fire chief’s call, but we’ll be seeing what calls of concern we’re getting here at the police department, and certainly we’ll weigh that.”
