Board members don’t dig rogue road work

DOVER- Selectboard members expressed anger over damage caused to a paved public road by a local contractor at their regular meeting Tuesday evening.
Road commissioner Travis Briggs said the contractor cut the pavement and dug a trench across Tennis Village Road without a town permit.  “It took me quite a while to figure out who did this,” he said.  “It’s October, and we’ve got a cut across a blacktop road – we can’t have that.  How can we move forward with some kind of repurcussion or penalty for that?”
