Board grilled over pay increases for employees

Whitingham residents Johanna and John Robohm questioned salary increases and other budget line items at Wednesday evening's informational meeting.

WHITINGHAM- Selectboard members held a Town Meeting informational session during their regular meeting Wednesday evening.  Several voters were on the Zoom portion of the hybrid meeting, and voter Johanna Robohm asked the first question of board members. She questioned a 14% increase in the town clerk’s salary, and a 24% increase in the selectboard administrator’s salary. “I’d like to know what the bases of these rather large raises are, during a pandemic when people have lost jobs and there’s widespread food insecurity.”
