Board, committee agree on land name
DOVER - At the selectboard’s meeting Tuesday, November 5, economic development director Steve Neratko said the trails committee had come to unanimous consensus that the town’s newly-purchased 48-acre trail and recreation property be named “Horace Hill.” After a short discussion that had some tense moments, the board approved the new name.
The name Horace Hill pays homage to Horace Earl, the last person to work the sugarbush on the property. Neratko said the trails committee would eventually like to add signage that points to former sugaring spots on the property.
