Board approves funds for sidewalks and trails

Selectboard members approved the purchase of radios for the Wilmington Fire Department.

WILMINGTON - During their meeting on Tuesday, December 17, the Wilmington Selectboard approved the purchase of new radios for the fire department, $53,300 in grant-matching funds for the East Main Street Sidewalk Project, and the trail committee’s request for $15,000.
“So we’re having a lot of radio problems. We’ve got radios that are anywhere from 18 to 25 years old and a lot of them aren’t working. So we were sending people into the buildings with no communications, which is very unsafe,” said Chief Scott Moore.
