Apple crop suffering a temporary lull

DEERFIELD VALLEY- While harvest season is just beginning, some backyard apple growers are becoming concerned that small fruits and shedding leaves might spell disaster for their crops. But Zeke Goodband, from Scott Farm Orchard in Dummerston, has some words of expertise for the apple farmer with a day job. According to Goodband, the trees may be losing their leaves due to a fungal infection caused by this season’s fickle temperatures.
