$1 million requested for sewer project would reduce taxpayers’ sewer rate

WHITINGHAM - The town of Whitingham may receive $1 million in federal funding for the sewer project after Sen. Bernie Sanders requested it as part of his fiscal year 2023 congressional directed spending requests.
Whitingham Selectboard office administrator Gig Zboray said the town applied for the  earmark online when the Senate Appropriations Committee was accepting applications for its fiscal year 2023 appropriation bills. She noted that Sen. Sander’s team was helpful during the process. “We didn’t even have an approved bid yet,” she said.
