SOUTHERN VERMONT - The Deerfield River Watershed Association, a “tributary” of the Connecticut River Conservancy, is in the process of vetting whether a federal designation might benefit the Deerfield River and the towns it runs through.
The Deerfield River and its tributaries run through 16 towns in Vermont and 20 in Massachusetts. Locally, those towns include Dover, Halifax, Marlboro, Readsboro, Searsburg, Somerset, Stamford, Stratton, Wardsboro, Whitingham, Wilmington, and Woodford.
