New police officers getting to know community, liking what they find

WILMINGTON - On a damp December afternoon, newly-appointed full-time police officer Sasha Kondraski is preparing for winter weather. She’s in a green uniform, which she notes is different than that of officer Andrew Kirkman, who became a full-time officer alongside her. Kirkman is dressed in blue.
“The green is for bad weather,” she says. “It’s more durable. The weather isn’t supposed to be great tonight.”
