Fire, police departments to face off

WILMINGTON - The fire and police departments will face a unique obstacle on Sunday, March 20. It isn’t a raging fire or a criminal on the loose. It’s each other. The two departments will engage in a showdown on the basketball court in a Wilmington Fire Department vs. Wilmington Police Department basketball game.
“It’s going to be a spectacle,” says police Chief Matt Murano. Murano says several of the department’s officers have been practicing for the game, but he hasn’t. “It’s too late for me to learn how to play basketball.”
