Art museum expansion unveiled, seen as an economic boost to region
Brattleboro’s infamous “malfunction junction” could get a makeover as part of a new expansion of the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center. The new building, center, will allow the museum to expand its offerings and provide housing to the town.
BRATTLEBORO - Brattleboro Museum & Art Center and M&S Development announced Tuesday that it will embark on a $30 million project that will transform the “malfunction junction” portion of Brattleboro’s downtown. The project will involve construction of a 55,000-square-foot building at the foot of Brattleboro’s Main Street, across from where the current museum is situated in the historic Union Station.
