Respect the flag
To the Editor,
“It all happened with a flag.”
I saw a story on the television this morning of a laid-off Disney worker who has and is creating wonderful banners and flags.
Our current 50-star flag started as the British Red Ensign, then called “the Jack flag.” The ladies of Boston put white stripes over the red field. They then removed the king’s colors in the canton and put 15 stars of white over the blue field. Today it is a 50-star flag, and we honor it above all other countries’ flags.
