Many people don’t know what Paul Weyrich said in 1980: “I don’t want everybody to vote ... our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down.” Weyrich, the cofounder of the Heritage Foundation and the American Legislative Exchange Council, was immensely influential among conservatives.
