To the Editor:
Remembering our veterans from the archives of the Historical Society of Wilmington:
During WW II, one of our own, Pvt. Charles E. Cole, arrived in France on December 7, 1944, and was killed fighting in the Battle of the Bulge in the Ardennes Forest on December 26, 1944. He was buried in Grand-Duche’ de Luxembourg.
In July 1948, his remains were returned to the United States for burial in the Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery, Brattleboro.
