Don’t get rid of Town Meeting, enhance it
To the Editor,
I strongly encourage all Wilmington voters to vote no on Articles 30 and 31 on Town Meeting day. If passed, these articles would end the traditional event we call Town Meeting as we know it.
We live in a time when more local participation in governance, not less, is needed to stem the tide of “top down” governance. Town Meeting is also a unique opportunity to inform our youth and engage them in the process. I suggest we make wholesale changes in the way we create and execute Town Meeting.
