ATVs on the roads: “It all starts out good”

To the Editor,
I read the article in last week’s paper concerning the Whitingham Selectboard’s meeting with the ATV club and it brought back memories of the same meetings held in Readsboro just  four years ago.
I would like to say I have no problems with ATVs but they have their time and place. Readsboro’s problems became more apparent when road riding in the village and other populated areas became allowed on an expanded level, far more than just the minimum required to access trailhead to trailhead. There is a valid reason they are called off-road vehicles.
