All Americans have a right to live

To the Editor,
Firstly, each and every American has a right to live. My family’s right to live, your family’s right to live, every family’s natural right to a life not cut short by violence outweighs any one individual’s right to a firearm.
Secondly, it was estimated that in 2017, there were approximately 120 (civilian owned) guns per 100 people. Not only does that mean as a nation we have more guns than people, but that the often cited conservative argument that “more guns would lead to less violence” is patently ridiculous.
