VSO to play free performance

BRATTLEBORO - The White River Junction VA health care system is pleased to offer a performance by the Vermont Symphony Orchestra on Wednesday, August 25, at the Vermont Brattleboro Clinic, 71 GSP Drive, starting at 3 pm.
This free live performance is part of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra’s Gazebos and Bandstands tour, a series of small-format concerts held statewide this summer. Yet, it is unique in that they will perform in honor of military veterans with a tribute to 120 years of American music.
Attendees will experience festive American music from several traditions during these concerts, including marches by John Philip Sousa, music from Aaron Copland’s “Rodeo,” and, probably the best-known example of ragtime, Scott Joplin’s “The Entertainer.”  Attendees may bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the show. This event is free and open to the public. For more information visit www.vso.org or call (802) 295-9363, ext. 5890.
