Folk-rock legend to perform at Latchis

BRATTLEBORO - On Saturday, September 17, at 7 pm, the Latchis Theater welcomes influential folk-rock legend Roger McGuinn for an evening of songs and stories from his epic career.
McGuinn and The Byrds are credited with launching the folk-rock genre, fusing the folk music exemplified by Bob Dylan with the pop music of The Beatles into a new, signature style. Teaming with Roger Clark, David Crosby, Michael Clarke, and Chris Hillman, McGuinn and The Byrds had hits like “Mr. Tambourine Man,” “Eight Miles High,” and “Turn, Turn, Turn.”
McGuinn, Hillman, and Gram Parsons then joined together to create the critically acclaimed “Sweetheart of the Rodeo” album, pioneering the country-rock genre. McGuinn has had many more successes in a career that is now in its seventh decade.
