Concerts mark holiday weekend

WINDHAM COUNTY - Labor Day weekend will be marked by myriad concerts around Windham County.
On Friday, September 3, from 5 to 7 pm, the Williamsville-based music duo, Bard Owl,  will play the West Townshend Farmers’ Market. Bard Owl has been playing the region since 2016, offering sweet harmonies, driving rhythms, and an eclectic mix of old-style, new, and original tunes. For more information visit www.bardowlmusic.com.
On Sunday, September 5, from 2 to 4 pm, Patty Carpenter and the Dysfunctional Family Jazz Band will perform on the gazebo at Dover Park, Route 100 in West Dover. For more info call (802) 464-5100.  
On Sunday, September 5, at 5 pm, Twilight Music and Next Stage Arts Project will present the Julian Gerstin Sextet, performing original jazz influenced by rhythms and melodies of the Caribbean and Eastern Europe. This will be the fourth concert of the 18th “Twilight on the Tavern Lawn” series on the Putney Tavern lawn or at Next Stage at 15 Kimball Hill in case of rain. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Eight acts will perform at the Guilford Fair this weekend. On Saturday, September 4, Kevin Parry will perform from 1 to 3 pm. The remaining seven will perform Sunday, September 5, and Monday, September 6, from 10 am to 5 pm, three acts a day, with 30-minute intervals in between. Acts will include Andy Avery Trio, Groove Prophet, and Mando X on Sunday; and Three Way Street, Patty Carpenter and the Dysfunctional Family Jazz Band, and Abe Loomis Band on Monday.
