The story of a Holocaust hero for Yom HaShoah
BENNINGTON- On Sunday, May 1, at 12 pm, in commemoration of Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day), author Jack Mayer will talk about his book, “Life in a Jar.” This is sponsored by Congregation Beth El and supported by the Vermont Humanities Council.
This is the inspirational true story of Irena Sendler, a Polish woman who rescued 2,500 Jewish children from certain death in the Warsaw Ghetto. Sendler remained unknown after the war until 1990 when three Kansas high school girls discovered her and made her heroism known to the world. Please join us to hear more about this amazing story.
