The spirit of giving - community dinners

Jacksonville Community Church
JACKSONVILLE - Back again by popular demand, the Jacksonville Community Church will be having its ninth annual Harvest Soup and Stew supper on Friday, November 19, from 5 to 7 pm. Join the church for a large variety of soups and stews, along with salad and dessert.
Takeout will be available. Call (802) 368-7626. Donations will be $12 for adults. Children 10 and under will be $5 and children under 5 are free. The Jacksonville Community Church is located at 110 Route 112.

St. Mary’s in Wilmington
WILMINGTON - Free Thanksgiving dinner is available to “grab and go” on November 25, from 1 to 2 pm, at St, Mary’s in the Mountains Episcopal Church.
In the pre-COVID times, St. Mary’s hosted the Thanksgiving dinner in its parish hall. The decision to provide the “grab-and-go” is in response to not seating people in close quarters without masks.
For those in need or alone, 50 meals are available. Reservations are required; call (802) 464-8480 and leave a message for Dick Ward with how many meals to set aside and provide a return telephone number to confirm the order.
Turkeys were donated by John and Christa Gannon and side dishes will be prepared by members of St. Mary’s Church.

Halifax Community Hall
WEST HALIFAX - The next senior meal at the Halifax Community Hall will be held Friday, November 19, at noon. Eat in or take out. The menu will include meatloaf, potatoes, vegetables, rolls, and dessert. Sponsored by Senior Solutions, a free-will donation of $3 is suggested. Call Joan Courser in advance at (802) 368-7733. The Halifax Community Hall is located at 20 Brook Road.
