WARDSBORO - The Friends of the Wardsboro Library are celebrating the famous Gilfeather turnip and farmer John Gilfeather at the Gilfeather Turnip Festival, this Saturday, September 23, from 10 am to 1 pm, at the Wardsboro Public Library, 170 Main Street.
Just-harvested, locally grown Gilfeather turnips will be for sale by the pound, next to a tent full of fun Gilfeather turnip merchandise including T-shirts, caps, aprons, cookbooks, and charming knitted Gilfeather turnip hats in sizes for children and adults. Also for sale are turnip seeds to plant in the spring of 2022. Some Gilfeather turnip baked goods will be sold, too.  All are welcome to this free family event.
