Bennington College week of free readings

BENNINGTON - From Thursday, January 6, to Friday, January 14, each night at 7 pm, critically acclaimed, award-winning authors and faculty of the Bennington Writing Seminars will host “Writers Reading,” an evening reading series during the MFA program’s winter residency. All readings are free, open to the public, and will take place virtually via Zoom.
The schedule is as follows: Writers Reading will welcome Stuart Nadler and Monica Ferrell on Thursday, January 6; Deirdre McNamer and David Gates on Friday, January 7; Alice Mattison and Derek Palacio on Saturday,  January 8; Sigrid Nunez and Carmen Giménez Smith on Sunday, January 9; Eula Biss and Mark Wunderlich on Monday, January 10; Clifford Thompson and Craig Morgan Teicher on Wednesday, January 12; Douglas Bauer and Jill McCorkle on Thursday, January 13; and Marie Mutsuki Mockett and Diane Seuss on Friday, January 14.
Writers Reading is a hallmark series of the Bennington Writing Seminars, a two-year low-residency master of fine arts in writing program with 10-day residencies in January and June. During the seminars, students work closely with distinguished and actively publishing faculty, their path determined by the reading discipline as well as the production of original work. The mission of the seminars is to connect the emerging writer with much of the best that has been done and to cultivate the critical skills that serve the writing as much as the reading.
