“Garden Rooms” talk
BRATTLEBORO - Recent snowfall may have been an unwelcome surprise but spring is definitely in the air. It’s a perfect time to be thinking about gardens and acclaimed garden designer, writer, and lecturer Gordon Hayward is the perfect guide to gardening.
On Sunday, March 27, at 2 pm, Hayward will present an illustrated talk on “garden rooms” at the Latchis. Admission is by suggested donation of $20, and proceeds benefit Latchis Arts.
In this one-hour illustrated talk, Hayward will share his ideas about how to design a garden room - a comforting and somewhat enclosed space within a larger garden. These past two years have taught people the value of a garden room to provide a place for respite and calm. Hayward will show images of several garden rooms he and his wife Mary have created.
Hayward has been designing gardens professionally for four decades and is a nationally recognized garden writer and lecturer. In addition, he served on the Latchis Arts board for eight years, including four as president. He has previously presented “Garden Rooms” via Zoom for the the Chicago Botanic Garden and the Smithsonian Institution’s “Let’s Talk Gardens” program. For more details visit latchis.com.
