Vermont’s horrific tales through art

“Room with a View” by Dennis Ciancimino

NEWFANE - The Crowell Art Gallery will celebrate Halloween all October long with Dennis Ciancimino’s “Goosebumps in Vermont” series. The exhibit will run from Tuesday, October 4, to Friday, October 28. A reception will be held Saturday, October 15, from 1 to 3 pm.
Ciancimino invites viewers on a mystical journey deep into the shadowland of Vermont, using folk horror art and personal narrative to tell the lesser-known stories of the forces that go bump into the night. Follow the stories as his paintings of  familiar fears of the unknown draw viewers deeper into personal and primal horror.
The art of Ciancimino may look familiar to some from when he was a cartoonist for The Deerfield Valley News. The show is colorful, lively, and sure to entertain.
The Crowell Art Gallery at the Moore Free Library is located at 23 West Street. The gallery is free and open to the public  Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1 to 5 pm; Thursdays from 1 to 6 pm; and Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm.
