Plein air artist showcases work

“Title to Come” by Rose Klebes

ARLINGTON - Local plein air artist Rose Klebes will present an exhibiton of her newest works at Canfield Gallery through Monday, August 29.
A resident of Cambridge, NY, Klebes is a remarkably prolific artist, painting scenes throughout the region on a daily basis. She works outdoors as often as possible, working in the en plein air method, capturing subjects quickly as the light changes. She works in acrylic as well as in oil, which she loves for its buttery quality that allows her brush strokes to add character to the work.
She loves capturing the natural landscape and has a photographic memory that allows her to recall details of scenes days later. She has been a practicing artist for more than 40 years, working in a wide range of media from furniture to mosaics, fiber art, watercolor, and sculpture. Currently though, she spends most of her time painting landscapes. Her work can be seen at the Valley Artisans Gallery in Cambridge, NY.
All works in the exhibit at the Canfield Gallery are for sale, with a portion of the proceeds helping to fund programming at the Martha Canfield Library. The exhibit  is open to the public during regular library hours.Updates can be found at http://facebook.com/thecanfieldgallery.
